Momma and I

Mommy and I are sitting on the couch just chillin. We love hanging out together. We wish we could do it more.

Merry Christmas!

Grandma is trying to get me to walk on Christmas day. I love posing for the camera but come on Grandma I am only 3 months old.

Mamma just changed me over at Auntie Amanda's. Silly Auntie you could have waited until I was off my changing pad. Oh well, I don't mind all that much.

Grandma really likes to make me exercise. I am really going to be in shape when I get older. Ladies watch out. I really am not listening when my mom says you have cooties.

Mommy, Daddy and I waking up after a nap on Christmas day. Great Grandma that was really good turkey even though I had to wait to try it.

I am so tired after those sit ups but I can still pose for a picture with Grandma. I love Christmas. I get so much attention.

Happy boy

He is all giggles and wiggles.

Uncle Roger's favorite toy

Uncle Roger let William borrow his toy. William loves the sound it makes.

Dr. Time

William's first doctors appointment went well. The end of it didn't make him happy though. He ended up with 5 shorts in the legs. My poor little boy.

Friends for life

William is telling his girlfriend Isabella to come out soon.

Williams first Halloween

I am getting ready for what mommy calls "trick or treating." Right now all I know is that it requires a car ride to grandma's. Mommy says I will get to spend time with cousin Aidan, Aunt Joanne and Uncle Roger, Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Grandpa will not be there though. He is away looking for elk. Whatever that is.

First Trip to the Zoo

This was my first trip to the zoo. Mommy and I went with Aunt Joanne, Uncle Roger, Cousin Aidan and Grandma Diane. It was Tiggeriffic. Hehehe. Cousin Aidan was a dinosaur and I of course was Tigger. We got to see the hippos and elephants eating pumpkins. One of the elephants as a little greedy and wanted all of the pumpkins but they made him (or her) share. Maybe next year I will actually enjoy it more. As it is now I can't see much out of my stroller and I am not sure I liked the cold weather.

Go Oregon

Daddy dressed me today. GO OREGON GO!!! Mommy is ok with it unless Washington State is playing. Go Cougs! I am so confused.

Hi Great Grandma

William is so happy to see his Great Grandma. He loves visiting people. That is until he is hungry and then all he wants is mommy.

Family gathering

This is a typical family gathering at my parents. Everyone loves to be around the baby. Aidan loves his new cousin. I can't wait for them to be old enough to play together but I don't want William to grow up.

Just playing around

William loves his play gym when he is actually happy. He actually kicks the edges and makes the music play on his own. Granted I don't think he knows what he is doing but he is really happy when he does.

Sleepy boy

This is proof that William does spend some time sleeping in his bassenette. The blanket that is on him was my blanket growing up. See I learned to share. Isn't he sweet while he sleeps.

Milestones

On William's one month birthday John got to feed him for the first time. It was a long night. He got pretty fussy because it caused him to get pretty gassy and it took us a long time to figure that out. A little gas stuff and his tummy was fine and he went straight to sleep.

Williams first professional photos alone.

Here are a few pictures of William's first solo trip to the photographer. Thank goodness Sears does a pretty good job and they are cheap.

John loves this one.

Yes, he looks a little scared and maybe cold but he isn't actually he is really cranky because he is too hot. I loved making the photo though because those are my hands.

Cute little baby toes

Out of all of them I choose to have this one printed. I thought that it was the best. I liked the one above as well but I really liked this one.

Coming home outfit

This outfit was made by William's great Grandma Stajgr as an outfit to come home from the hospital in. Those little fingers really don't like going into those sleeves.

Aidan meets baby William

Who is this strange person in front of me and why is everyone calling him baby. I am the baby.

A baby is born

William Ray Guevara was born Tuesday, September 11th 2007 at 10:38 pm. He weight exactly 8 pounds and was 21.5 inches long. I was in labor for 24 hours and had to push for 1.5 hours. He decided he wanted to look at my leg while coming out instead of looking down like he should have. My midwife didn't realize that until he was almost completely out and had turned properly the rest of the way on his own. John was an amazing support to me. I don't know if I could have done it without him. He even stayed for the epidural though he hates needles. No I am not a hero. I wanted pain meds. My mom will not let me live that down.

The Monday night before our friends Dan and Val came over for dinner. I noticed at one point that I had started contractions. I just wasn't sure if they were rhythmic or not. Though I was in a bit of pain I stuck it out all the way through dinner. After they left John and I started timing my contractions. They were about 9 minutes apart. I called the advice nurse to see what I should be doing. She basically told me that if I can hold of till they are 2-3 minutes apart that would be best. So we went to bed. Around 5 am I decided to call the hospital to tell them I was on my way. I was worried because for the last month they have really been watching me for preeclampsia. We finally arrived at the hospital at 6am and were sent to triage. This is normal because they want to make sure your are ready to be admitted. This is also where I found out that if I would have checked my messages on my cell phone I should have been admitted they night before to be induced because they didn't want to chance the preeclampsia anymore. John wasn't too happy with me because of that.

It wasn't until about 10 am that I finally made it into my birthing room. It was a busy day at the hospital. About 5 nurses, 1 anesthesiologist, and a few doctors and midwives later I was feeling really well and it was time to push. By then my epi had warn off and so did the booster. I was extreamly happy to have my midwife on duty when I gave birth. I didn't like her when I first got her at kaiser after my first one left but honestly she was another driving force for me.

My parents were at the hospital as well as Dan and Val. It was really cool having people around to greet William into the world but after all of that I was ready for sleep. We didn't get into our postpartum room until 2 am and I was hungry. After a late night snack I feel asleep for a little while.

I was only in the hospital a total of two days. I think they would have probably let me stay longer but John really wanted to leave.

Baby Hiccups

I think this is the first time that Junior has ever had the hiccups. It is kinda funny.

I know it has been a while sense I last wrote anything but I can't say any more now. I am a bit busy at work. More to come.

It's a boy

A week ago I finally had my ultrasound. We found out we are having a boy. John and I are both very excited. I know a lot of people including us were kinda hoping for a girl but you know what I am perfectly happy with a boy. Life works in mysterious ways and I believe there is a reason in life that things happen.

I can't wait to see and spend time with my son.

Baby ultrasound

I got a call around 11:00 yesterday canceling my appointment. It was rescheduled for May 1st. It really made me sad yesterday. But oh well. What can you do? Someone most have really needed my time slot.

Anyways, hopefully we will get to see our little peanut soon.

Baby wiggles

About 2 weeks ago I started to feel the baby moving. I have noticed the more active I am the more active it is. Last night it just had the wiggles. John was lucky and managed to have his hand on my tummy when it kicked. It was the first time that John has felt the baby move. The kick aren't strong, they are like little thumps inside. It is kinda cool. If I was moving a lot I wouldn't notice.

We find out tomorrow what we are having. It is really exciting.

Ultrasound

John just told me today that his boss isn't going to let him have the day off for our real ultrasound. I told him "this might be my hormones talking but you are going if your boss likes it or not." I am not going to be there by myself to find out what I am having.

I know I am not like my sister-in-law who had everyone there at the time of the ultrasound. They typically only let you and one other person in the room when you have the actual procedure preformed. More can come in after though. Joanne didn't care, she was going to have Roger, her parents and our parents there. I just feel that this is a time for just John and myself and I will not deal well with anyone else.

My blood pressure is already high. I do not need this stress. What in the hell is his boss thinking. He has kids, he should know that this appointment is important. I find out the sex of my little peanut that day. I can't imagine him not being there. I don't think I could find out by myself.

Anyways, I am going to pick him up when I get off of work and we are going straight to the doctors and I am going to take him right back after. Maybe I will get them all pizza after but John needs to be there.

Keeping moving

While at work it seems that everyone is concerned with what I am doing now that I am pregnant. Some don't think that I am doing enough and others thing I am doing to much. I talked to my doctor and she said I am on the right path.

Anyways, I have noticed that I am showing a little before I should be. Basically saying that my tummy muscles aren't what they should be. I am working on tightening them because I know the tighter they are the less my back is going to hurt later.

More baby info

So as I said before, we have seen and heard baby's heartbeat. I have yet to feel baby move. I can't wait for that. I lay there at night while John is asleep hoping to feel something. Occasionally I get scared at the bed shakes when the cat jumps up to play. Pudge, the cat, loves to sleep on the baby. When I am on my back she is right on tummy. And if I am on my side she is right where the baby would be. It is like she knows what is going on and wants to be a part of it. She doesn't leave my side most afternoons that I am home alone.

Back to baby, currently I have a changing table, a set of crib bedding (lamp and mobile included) and some toys. I am looking for a crib and just about everything else. I was really excited about getting my changing table. It is really nice and sturdy and only cost me $15. I got it at a consignment sale. There is another consignment sale coming up starting April 27th at Oaks Park. Here is some information on it.
Spring 2007 Sale!
April 27-29, 2007
The Oaks Amusement Park
7100 Oaks Park Way
Portland
http://portland.jbfsale.com/

The 27th is a pre-sale for new moms, consignors and volunteers. That is when I am going.
Anyways, that is what is going on in my life and the life of my baby. Back to work so I can earn more money to spoil him or her. : )

Mommy's first post

So here it is. My baby's first blog. So I guess I should start from the beginning. January 12 came and went and nothing happened so I knew something was wrong. I took a test and found out that I was expecting. Daddy was very excited. I was scared. It meant a lot of changes in our lives and some of them I wasn't ready for. But I knew that with Daddy by my side we (as in all three of us) would be fine.

February 21 we had our first doctors appointment. That is where I fell in love with my doctor. Actually she is a Certified Nurse Midwife but I don't care. At the end of the appointment we did an in office ultrasound. I got to see our baby. Well actually a peanut with a heartbeat. And a good strong heartbeat.

March 21st we had another appointment and we actually heard the heartbeat this time. But we did learn one thing... We get our proper ultrasound on the 25th of April. That is the day that we will find out what we are having.

There is one thing though. We are not telling anyone the name of the baby. We have both picked out for the most part. Things may change but I doubt it.

Anyways, I do not have anymore information right now. Hopefully I will have more soon.
